Terms of service
Practical terms for the founding pilot.
These terms describe the TOC Works generation, export, and optional publishing service operated by Trasaterra.
Effective August 28, 2026 · Previous terms
Agreement and eligibility
By creating an account, purchasing generation, or publishing a work, you agree to these terms. You must be at least 18 years old and able to enter this agreement. If you use TOC Works for an organization, you confirm that you are authorized to act for it.
The service
Creators provide a table of contents and may add source material or governing rules. TOC Works develops one draft from that structure with AI. Creators can review the draft, edit it manually, and export it. Publishing through TOC Works is optional. Generated prose is not represented as conventional human authorship, and no generated text is guaranteed to be error-free.
Quotes and payment
The current pilot does not charge for saving a TOC or reserving a complimentary credit. Automated generation is paused; reserving a credit does not start production or establish a delivery date. Production timing must be confirmed separately. Estimates in U.S. dollars reflect the planned sections and length of the work. Any future paid production requires a displayed quote and your authorization before work begins. Stripe remains in sandbox during this pilot.
Draft delivery and additional revisions
New pilot offers cover one AI-generated draft. Manual editing and export are available in the creator studio. Further AI generation or revision is not included unless separately agreed; any additional paid work requires a new quote and your authorization.
Earlier accepted offers and paid commitments remain subject to their agreed scope, including any revision allowance. These updated terms do not remove an allowance already promised under the August 26 terms.
Refund and cancellation policy
A creator may cancel and request a full refund before generation of the paid edition begins. Once generation begins, the fee funds nonrecoverable model, research, and production costs and is ordinarily nonrefundable.
If TOC Works cannot deliver the purchased edition, we will refund the portion paid for work we did not perform. Duplicate or erroneous charges will be refunded. Request help at info@trasaterra.com.
TOC Works does not currently sell automatically renewing creator subscriptions, so there is no recurring production plan to cancel.
Creator responsibility
The creator is responsible for reviewing the generated edition before publication and for having the right to provide its outline, sources, instructions, quotations, names, likenesses, and other materials. The creator must assess factual accuracy, privacy, defamation, publicity rights, confidentiality, and professional-risk claims. Evidence-based work should be checked against its citations. TOC Works may decline, remove, or restrict unlawful, infringing, deceptive, unsafe, or abusive material.
Artwork and media
For every uploaded image, the creator must accurately identify the rights holder and whether the image is creator-owned, licensed, public domain, or used under a Creative Commons license. License conditions and required attribution remain the creator’s responsibility. Generated images must be disclosed and reviewed for unwanted similarity, trademarks, recognizable persons, and other third-party rights before publication.
Creator materials and publication
Creators retain their rights in original outlines and materials they provide. They grant TOC Works and its service providers a nonexclusive license to process, reproduce, and format those materials only as needed to generate, store, export, or—when the creator elects—publish the work. Private works are not publicly displayed or promoted. The creator represents that these rights can be granted. Publication visibility remains subject to the creator’s selected settings and these terms.
Removing a work ends future display by TOC Works, subject to limited backups, payment or legal records, and copies already exported or lawfully obtained by readers. Copyright complaints are handled under the Copyright and takedown policy. Accounts repeatedly responsible for infringement may be restricted or terminated.
AI output and copyrightability
Generated output may not be unique and may not qualify for copyright protection without sufficient human-authored expression. TOC Works does not promise exclusivity, registrability, or ownership beyond rights its model providers are permitted to assign. Human-authored outlines, selection, arrangement, manual revisions, and original artwork may carry different rights and should be evaluated independently.
Pilot availability and limits
TOC Works is an early-stage service and may change, pause, or discontinue features. Generative, research, and citation systems can produce omissions or mistakes, so creators remain responsible for review before publication or professional use.
To the extent permitted by law, the service is provided as available without a promise of uninterrupted operation or a particular commercial, scholarly, or creative result. TOC Works is not responsible for indirect or consequential losses, and its total liability for a claim will not exceed the amount paid for the affected service. These limits do not reduce rights that cannot legally be waived.
