A Second Descent

Creator: Jason Paul · Developed with AI by ToC Works.

One proposed solution imagines another group of heavenly beings descending after the Flood. It would allow later heroic unions while leaving the earlier rebels confined. As a reconstruction, it solves a problem by adding an event.

The sources considered here do not establish that event. Genesis does not name another group. Its silence about some details of the first episode does not become evidence for a second. Enoch's fuller narrative also cannot be made to disclose whatever sequel a comparison needs.

A hypothesis can be entertained if it has positive support. Its ability to rescue an attractive scheme is not enough. We would need a witness or other reason for believing the further descent occurred.

For now, the second-descent proposal remains speculative. Keeping it at that level allows us to consider alternatives without making the whole argument depend on an episode supplied by our own desire for a coherent timeline.
