ToC Works

Can AI generate a complete book draft?

Yes. ToC Works can generate a complete working draft from an outline. You can begin with an idea and develop the structure before production. The draft still needs your editorial judgment, factual review, and revisions before publication.

Start with the book you want to read

Name the intended reader and the promise of the book. Decide whether you want a practical guide, a narrative, a collection of arguments, or another form. Explain the tone and approximate length, then develop chapters with distinct jobs.

You can use notes, research, or a conversation to develop this plan. More relevant input gives you clearer criteria for judging the result. It does not remove the need to review what the AI writes.

Review the plan before production

ToC Works uses the outline to organize a book-length project. Review the chapter sequence, section assignments, and instructions before starting generation. For a paid project, review the model, scope, and price before checkout; an intake alone does not purchase production.

The structure matters because each section must contribute to the same book. State which ideas belong in which chapter, which examples should appear only once, and which claims need evidence. Avoid relying on a single broad instruction such as “write a great book.”

Read across chapters, not just within them

A complete draft is a starting point for editing. Look for repeated explanations, changes in terminology, contradictions, abrupt transitions, and conclusions that the earlier chapters do not support. A fluent paragraph can still contain an error.

For nonfiction, verify factual claims and references against original sources. For fiction, check chronology, character motivations, and consistency. Review any quotations or passages that resemble source material before deciding what to publish.

Keep editing and take the manuscript with you

Refine the manuscript in the studio and export Word or EPUB when you want to review it elsewhere. You choose whether to publish a public reading edition on ToC Works. Generating a draft does not require public publication.

If you already have a manuscript, start with editing. If you have finished essays or other pieces and want their wording preserved, start with assembly. Full draft generation is available when you want ToC to write new prose from the plan.
